         Witherbee's Market

Grocery - Produce - Delicatessen

601 Martin Luther King Avenue

Flint NIPP has been working to develop a much needed amenity in downtown Flint. For years Flint's downtown has seen a lack of healthy sustainable food options, forcing residents of surrounding neighborhoods to travel long distances for their grocery needs. Witherbee's Market will be a neighborhood-based grocery store that will carry produce, dry goods, dairy products, fresh meats & seafood, baked goods, and delicatessen.  There will be an emphasis on selling local and Michigan based products to provide customers with the most affordable selection of quality goods. Services will be provided on a smaller scale than the traditional large grocery store, however all necessities will be stocked for those who require the convenience of the downtown location.

Witherbee's will not only provide inner-city neighborhoods with healthy food alternatives it will also create an estimated 15 new employment opportunities for the downtown community.  The market has already utilized the talents of students from Flint's own Baker College who have assisted with the pre-planning processes in regards to the marketing, interior layout, and logo design for the market.

Construction of Witherbee's is slated to begin in early 2009 and Flint NIPP anticipates a late spring/early summer opening.  Continue to check back for updates and ways you can get involved with this exciting new addition to our downtown landscape.
