Senior Minor Home Repair Program

Flint NIPP is now offering minor home repair services to low to moderate income citizens of Flint age 60 years and older who own and occupy their homes.  Flint NIPP's Senior Minor Home Repair Program is available to seniors citywide who meet the HUD Section 8 income guidelines, and is intended to aid seniors who are unable to make repairs themselves due to age, illness and frailty.  This program will provide preventive and corrective improvements to homes to remedy a substandard condition or safety hazard by providing qualified individuals to complete minor home repairs.  All labor is provided free of cost.  Services rendered will provide a permanent restoration to extend the life of the home.  Repairs will include but not limited to:

  • Light carpentry

  • Plumbing

  • Light electrical

  • Door & window repair

  • Lock installation & repair

  • Gutter/eaves/downspouts maintenance & repair

If repairs needed require a Building Permit form the City of Flint, they are not eligible under this program.  If you or anyone you know is a low-income homeowner 60 years or older and in need of minor home repairs, please call our office.
